Terms of Use
Golfmie · Last updated: 11 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and the publisher of the Golfmie mobile app ("Golfmie", "the app", "we", "us"). They apply to the Android and iOS apps and to the web pages at golfmie.com. Please read them together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your personal data.
1. Who we are
Golfmie is published by Rehan Mazhar, 7 Avenue du Général de Gaulle, 77600 Bussy-Saint-Georges, France. Contact: support@golfmie.com.
2. Accepting these terms
By creating an account or using the app you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. When we change the terms in a meaningful way, the app asks you to accept the new version before you continue.
3. Who can use Golfmie
Golfmie is intended for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account. You may only have one account, and you may not use the app if we have previously suspended or closed your account for breaking these terms.
4. Your account
- You sign in with your email address and a one-time code sent to it. There is no password, so keep access to your email account secure.
- You are responsible for what happens in your account and for keeping your profile information accurate. Do not share your sign-in codes with anyone.
- Tell us straight away at the contact address above if you think someone else has accessed your account.
5. Acceptable use: zero tolerance
Golfmie is a place to organise golf with friends. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. You must not post, send or share anything, or behave in a way, that:
- harasses, bullies, threatens or intimidates anyone;
- expresses hate or discrimination against people based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age or any similar characteristic;
- is sexually explicit or pornographic, or sexualises anyone;
- shows, encourages or glorifies violence, self-harm or cruelty;
- is spam, unsolicited advertising, scams or chain messages, including abusing email invitations;
- is illegal, or promotes illegal activity, or infringes someone else's rights (copyright, trademarks, privacy or image rights);
- impersonates another person or organisation, or misrepresents who you are;
- contains malware, or tries to break, overload, reverse-engineer or get unauthorised access to the app, its servers or other users' accounts.
Reporting and blocking
- You can report a user, a message or other content from inside the app, and you can block any user. A blocked user can no longer message you or see your activity.
- We review reports within 24 hours. If content breaks these terms we remove it, and we act against the user who posted it.
What we can do
To keep the community safe we may, without notice where the situation requires it: remove or hide content, limit features, and suspend or permanently terminate the account of a user who breaks these terms. Serious or repeated violations lead to termination. Where the law requires it, we may report illegal content to the authorities. If you think we made a mistake, contact us and we will look at it again.
6. Your content
- You keep ownership of everything you post in the app: messages, photos, voice messages, rounds, scores, course contributions and profile information ("your content").
- So that the app can work, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, host, copy, resize and display your content, only to operate the app and to show it to the people you share it with (your friends, your groups, the players in your rounds and, for profile information, other users who search for you). The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for content that stays in shared data as explained in our Privacy Policy (for example scores in rounds played with others, shown as "Deleted golfer").
- Course details you add or correct join the shared course database so every golfer can use them.
- You confirm that you have the right to share your content and that it follows these terms.
7. Course data
Course information in the app (layouts, par, tees, ratings, slope, locations, photos) comes from sources such as OpenStreetMap, contributions from the community and AI-assisted lookups. It may be incomplete, out of date or wrong. Always check the official scorecard and local rules at the course. Golfmie is a social and practice tool and is not intended for official handicap or competition use.
8. Handicaps and scores
Handicap indexes in the app are entered by players themselves, and scores and statistics are calculated from what players record. They are not official World Handicap System (WHS) handicaps and are not submitted to any golf federation.
9. Third-party services
The app relies on third-party services (for example maps, weather, GIF search, email and push notifications, listed in our Privacy Policy). Their content and availability are their responsibility, and their own terms may apply. Links to other websites are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for their content.
10. The service
Golfmie is currently free. It is provided "as is" and "as available": we work to keep it running and accurate, but we cannot promise that it will always be available, error-free or that data will never be lost. We may change, add or remove features, or stop the service; if we stop it, we will tell you in advance where we reasonably can.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect losses, or for losses caused by content posted by other users, by inaccurate course or handicap data, or by events outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including French and European Union consumer law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for gross negligence or wilful misconduct, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when the app or the law changes. The date at the top shows the current version. If a change matters, we will tell you in the app and ask you to accept it before you continue using Golfmie. If you do not accept it, you can stop using the app and delete your account.
13. Ending your account
You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time in the app (Profile → Account → Delete account) or by email. See how to delete your account. We may close your account as described in section 5.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by French law. If you are a consumer living in another EU country, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your country of residence. Please contact us first so we can try to solve any problem. As a consumer you may also use a consumer mediator free of charge or, failing an amicable solution, bring the dispute before the competent French courts or the courts of your place of residence.
